In Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya.

Marula Proteen turns coffee and avocado waste into fertiliser made for local soils, sold to the smallholder farmers who grew the crops. Founded in Kampala in 2017 by Tommie and Philipp. Thirty-four people across three countries, and more than 10,200 farmers served.

The product is an organo-mineral fertiliser, tested by an independent laboratory and sold on what it does for the soil, not as compost. Production runs from lean hubs in Uganda and Rwanda. The same biology as AgriGrub: waste in one end, soil out the other.
